Ukraine joins EuroMelanoma global program

Ukraine has joined the EuroMelanoma world program, the press service of the Ministry of Health reported.

According to the ministry, in the structure of mortality from cancer, mortality from melanoma ranks second. From 2000 to 2008, melanoma hit 22,295 people. The Ministry of Health urges for implementation of the preventive measures that were initiated by the Doctor Bogomolets Institute of Dermatology and Cosmetology, namely the Day of Melanoma in Ukraine, to conduct screening of the disease among the population for identification of risk groups and detection of the disease at early stages with as many people as possible.
