NTU, the public broadcaster in Ukraine will stage the 50th Eurovision Song Contest.Estonian Eurovision expert Tarmo Krimm studied two possible venues for the 50th Eurovision Song Contest. He looked at The Kiev Palace of Sports and a new concert hall being built on Brovarske Avenue close to the International ExpoCenter.





The EBU specified that to be suitable, any venue must be able to accommodate a large press centre and provide seating for around 6,000 in the auditorium. The EBU were keen to ensure that the chosen venue meets high technical standards and provides ample Internet connectivity for participants and an anticipated 2000 press delegates alike. After much consideration, the Sports Palace was declared the best venue.



There are plans to transform the venue into a "green pearl in the heart of the city". A green shield will cover all external walls of the venue, as small light balls will glow and shine on the entire construction. More green light balls will cover the walls inside the arena. All of the street light stands around the sports palace will be covered as well in green with this year's Eurovision logo.
